the cult of communion

Ricardo Tisci claims that “the cult of communion” was his starting point for the Givenchy Spring 2013 Menswear collection. The designer commissioned artists to reinterpret classic religious imagery (which turned out completely amazing and I want it all even though I am but a Jewish girl).

“A brocade of a child’s communion gown could have looked innocent, but Tisci spookily printed it with vestigial faces that looked like the Shroud of Turin’s sisters”. – Tim Blanks
